Pair of very generously proportioned Gainsborough style easy armchairs. Shaped and padded backrests with loose cushions over low arms and unusually wide seats (height 16″) with loose cushions held in place with metal clips at the rear. Carved and painted wooden frames with scrolling detail to the arms and feet and a shaped apron at the front sides and rear. Upholstered in a soft woven fabric featuring a design of large flowers and fruit, with piped edges. Maker’s label for Classic Traditions of High Point North Carolina on one of the seats. Minor wear to the woodwork, generally very good condition with clean covers.
