Victorian Mahogany Ladder Back Carver Chair
An attractive Victorian chair. We date this chair to the mid 19th century.
The chair sits on four square section legs with stretchers.
The ladder backrest has a wavy carved pierced design and the armrests have a lovely scrolled front. The chair seat pad has been newly upholstered in a blue, green tartan fabric.
The chair has an overall height of 37.5" (95cm), an overall width of 25" (63cm), an overall depth of 22" (56cm), a backrest height of 19.5" (50cm), a seat height of 17.5" (45cm), a seat width of 19.5" (50cm) and seat depth of 18” (46cm).
The chair remains in a good condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some indentations at the front of the seat pad and on the legs, there is some minor wear to the front of the armrests.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
