This is a fine piece, with an absolutely exquisite enamel guilloche design to the front - so beautifully enamelled in a baby blue, with a delicate design to the centre - edged in a further silver design to the outer edge - very Art Nouveau. Dating c. 1915, it is a period piece in immaculate order and whilst there are no hallmarks (often can be under the mirror) I am convinced it is by John Gloster respected silversmith of Birmingham, as I have seen this particular design before. It is silver, testing as such and marked with a couple of faint marks - but in the absence of official hallmarks (again probably under the mirror) will have to sell as "white metal" and this is reflected in the price. All clasps and hinges are perfect, snapping shut nicely. In immaculate condition, this will not disappoint - A fine piece that will delight the most discerning of buyers
