William Bennett Mabel Hodgkiss Art Deco Garniture Art Deco Clarice Cliff Susie Cooper %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A rare and wonderful 1930's Art Deco garniture piece designed and handpainted by Mabel V Hodgkiss for William Bennett. She was a student at the Burslem School of Art and joined William Bennett specifically to design and hand paint in the style of Clarice Cliff and Myott. These items are now extremely hard to find and this example is in very good condition for it's age with no damage or restoration guaranteed. Bright, bold colours and a rich honeyglaze. There are no chips, cracks or nibbles. The paintwork is excellent with just two minute paint glaze spots seen in the photos and a tiny maunufacture indent to the base edge. These Willam Bennett/Mabel Hodgkiss garniature style pieces are very hard to find and highly sought after. 12.5cm wide and 13cm high
Fully marked to the base and also carries a William Bennett impressed stamp.
