1960's Vintage Afromosia Sofa Bed by Toothill
An outstanding and very rare vintage sofa bed in solid afromosia wood. This was made by Toothill antique furniture in England, it dates from the 1960’s.
These were originally retailed in Heal’s in the 1960’s, the quality is absolutely amazing. This has an absolutely gorgeous design and lots of amazing features. There are lovely copper mounts that support the back, this sits on fabulous tapered legs and has very useful table tops built in to the arm rests. There is a clever mechanism to extend the armrests outwards and also to tilt the back, to increase the sleeping area when used as a guest bed.
We have had the frame re-polished with new webbing, this has also been completely re-upholstered in a gorgeous racing green velvet fabric. The condition is superb throughout.
We also have the matching pair of armchairs that came with this, seen listed under our other items for sale.
