19th Century Continental Card Table
A 19th century continental walnut and burr walnut veneered turn over top card table.
The table, which could also be used as a console table, has carved cabriole shaped legs with serpentine cross stretchers.
The back legs and stretchers hinge out to support the table leaf when turned over to use for cards or games.
The serpentine shaped front has a burr walnut veneer and a carved lower edge that is a concealed drawer which is lined with solid walnut.
The table when opened has a baize playing surface and a broad walnut edge.
This table is very well made and in good condition, the legs and stretchers have gilt decoration that is now slightly worn. (Circa 1880)
