This is an attractive early Victorian period painting of a society beauty under a slightly domed glass. The painting is finely worked in gouache and has exquisite detail. The lady is wearing pearls in her hair and around her neck as well as a beautiful teardrop brooch. The portrait has a lovely subtle colour palette and is in its original gilt metal tooled frame. The back of the painting is lined with an oval panel of mother of pearl.

The miniature measures by 6 cms by 5 cms overall.
