2 x Edwardian Cut Glass Bud Vases w/ Silver Rims
Here we have a very elegant pair of Edwardian Cut Glass Bud Vases with hallmarked Sterling Silver rims. The hand blown vases are hourglass shaped with diamond cut decoration at the bottom, ribbed decoration around the waist and star cut decoration at the top. They would look lovely with a single flower in on a dressing table, a small dining table or on a breakfast tray.
The rims are hallmarked for Sydney & Co of Birmingham and date to 1902. Sydney & Co were founded around 1900 and remained in business up until the 1970s.
Condition of the cut glass vases is very good with no chips or cracks. Whilst undoubtedly a pair, being hand blown they have very slight differences. The silver rims have some small dings in them, as is often the case as very thin silver had to be used to mould the rims onto the glass. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The vases stand 9.8cm / 3.8ins high and are 3.6cm / 1.45ins in diameter across the base.
The hallmarks on the silver rims are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter c for 1902 and the S & Co makers\' mark for Sydney & Co.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
