4 David-Andersen Silver Gilt & Guilloche Forks
We are offering this lovely set of 4 Guilloche Enamel and Sterling Silver Gilt Cocktail/Lemon/Olive/Pickle Forks by David-Andersen of Norway. Each fork bears the following mark D-A NORWAY STERLING, as shown on the photograph. This mark has been in use since 1925. The forks are in four colours, Lemon, Burgundy, Lavender and Sea Green. At the end of the handle, there is a stylised flower design. Please see the photographs for more detail.
David Andersen 91843-1901)was a Norwegian gold and silversmith who founded his company in Oslo (then called Christiana), in 1876. By 1892, he had two retail outlets. After his death in 1901, his son Arthur took over the firm and decided to hyphenate the family name to David-Andersen, which it remains to this day and is now run by members of the fourth generation.
Length: 4 3/8" - 11.1cm
Material: 925 Sterling silver gilt and enamel
Condition: Excellent condition. There is no damage whatsoever to the enamel, or loss to the gilding. There are faint surface scratches to the tines from use.
