5 x Danish Silver Buffet Forks, P.Frigast, 1953-56
This is a lovely set of 5 Danish 830 Silver Buffet Forks from the 1950s. The forks are in the "Anne Marie" pattern and are made in a heavy gauge of silver by Poul Frigast of Copenhagen. Two of the forks are dated 1953, two are dated 1954 and one is dated 1956.
This particular style of fork, with a sharpened spike on the left hand tine, is sometimes described as a buffet fork and sometimes as a seafood fork. It is perfectly suitable for either use!
Poul C. Lutken Frigast was a Danish silversmith who started his business in Copenhagen around 1915. He passed away in the late 1930s but the company bearing his name continued producing high quality silver flatware and cutlery into the 1970s.
These forks are in very good condition with no dings, dents or damage and only very superficial surface wear. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each fork is 14.2cm long and the set of 5 together weigh a very substantial 125.6g.
The forks are marked on the underside of the stem with the PF makers' mark for Poul C. L. Frigast. They all have the Danish 3 towers symbol for minimum 830/1000 silver, two of them dated for 1953, two for 1954 and one for 1956.
