A perfect Ruskin kingfisher high-fired bowl Ruskin high fired kingfisher glaze bowl
A Ruskin high-fired kingfisher lustre glaze bowl. This is perhaps the most sought after lustre glaze. Of deep blue irridescence and a jewel like surface, it is easy to see why collectors want pieces like this. The glaze is over an egshell ivory ground. Backstamp Ruskin and dated 1920, the base also shows the tripod marks from the stand. This item is in perfect order, with no restoration, chips to the glaze or hairline cracks. Modelled as a slight variant on shape 184 in Ruskin's catalogue, the foot is slightly narrower than the catalogue depicts. Measuring 6.75" wide and just over 3.25" deep, this is a delightful piece.
