A Very Rare Childs Windsor chair by William Wheatland in Ash with an Elm seat in excellent condition. William was making chairs in the town of Retford before moving to the newly built hamlet of Rockley in 1820 he built at his own expence a Chapel next door to his workshop ,he was a lay preacher, unfortunatly he ran out of money and had to leave the area circa 1830, the workshop was taken over by George Nicholson who carried on the tradition of chair making.
