An extremely rare design by Albert Rutherston for the 1934 Harrods and Art in Industry exhibitions. Noteable artists of the day including Laura Knight, Graham Sutherland, Paul Nash and Vanessa Bell were commissioned by Foley China and Clarice Cliff to submit designs. Foley produce designs on porcelain and Clarice Cliff on earthenware. Glassware for the exhibition was produced by Stuart & Sons. Albert Rutherston was a figure and landscape painter, book illustrator and designer of posters and stage sets. An example of this design is displayed in the V&A Museum.
