An early 19thc. Derby Imari teapot c.1810-20.
Description
A beautiful item, elaborately moulded, painted and gilded, in one of those Imari patterns for which Derby became justifiably famous. Complex Pattern of gilded flowers, and painted foliage. Heavily moulded and gilded spout.
Condition
In excellent antique condition. No apparent defects, damage or restoration, save for the fact that part of the inner rim has been damaged. The lid sits happily on the remaining sections of the rim. There is also a hairline to the base of the item. This would suggest that it would be inadvisable actually to use the piece, as there is a structural instability in that respect. Both of these defects are invisible, however, from a display perspective.
Dimensions
10.5" long
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, Paypal and UK personal cheque.
