Antique Black Forest Carving
Black Forest carving of Barry the famouse St Bernard dog who lived at the St Bernard Monastry in Switzerland. During his working life at the begining of the 19th century he saved 40 persons who had been trapped by snow in the St Bernard pass. To this day at least one dog at the monastry is named after Barry. The St Bernard breed as we know it stems from Barry.
