Always very popular and a very useful desk-top accessory. This one is smaller than most, making it a very usable desk-top accessory these circular magnifiers actually are the condenser or magnifier from a Magic Lantern dating to around 1910 they are rescued, polished up and put back to use in the modern day. This condenser may be from another optical instrument.

This one is made from polished brass and is excellent quality having a lovely domed lens rather than flat on top, fully marked by Dallmeyer John Henry Dallmeyer (6 September 1830 – 30 December 1883), was an Anglo-German optician.

I believe the long number, 452848 to be an English Design registration number for the year 1905.

This one dates to around 1910 and is marked Made In England. Excellent condition measuring 3" x 1 1/2".
