How unusual to find an unused boxed set in superb unused condition - & from the 19th century too! This is an adorable silver plated spoon & fork boxed in the finest condition possible with no signs of use. It is presented in the original box & was manufactured between 1850-1899
by The Holmes & Edwards Silver Company. As you will be able to see from image one this
is a very charming set.
The Holmes and Edwards Silver Company was established in 1882, Bridgeport Connecticut. The Company was established by George C. Edwards and Israel Holmes. They manufactured items made of silver plate & also sterling silver. In 1889 they were bought out by the International Silver Company. But they continued to have silverware made with their name and stamp on it.
The spoon & fork both measure 4 1/4" & both weigh 18.6 grams.
