This is an antique desk stand. An English, silver plated correspondence box with ink wells, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Brightly polished with distinctive casket form
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Silver plate projects a clear, bright tonality
Pair of receptacles beneath the domed lid with central recess for quill tips

The lid opens smoothly by way of a small finial
Cut glass ink wells free of marks or loss, each dressed with hinged lid
Useful pen rest to the leading edge, with concave, rolled finish
Dashing lion head masques mount the small carry handles to the end plate
