A charming late Victorian desk set, comprising of an inkstand made from solid English Oak with a glass inkwell to the centre with a hinged brass top. The large cast brass horseshoe is made to sit three dip pens to the back on the nails, this is topped with a little cast stirrup a perfect addition to the horse-lover's desk-top. Dating to c.1890, it remains in excellent condition. The base measures 4 3/4" square and the entire piece standing 6 1/4" the inkwell itself measures 1 1/2" square x 2 1/4" tall.
