Beautiful, this is a stunning example of a Victorian calling or visiting card case. c. 1880 it is exquisitely made of mother of pearl, carved to the edges, with a centre diamond cartouche in silver. Opening on a side hinge to reveal a deep blue silk lining with gilt edged card pockets. In fabulous, dare I say perfect condition, this is the best example I have seen in a very long time. Snapping shut with a small button fastening to the front, it takes business cards today and would make an amazing antique gift. The centre cartouche is lightly engraved in script "JB". Just a stunning piece that will not disappoint the most discerning of buyers.
