Brunel's Tunnel under the Thame's 1829
Brunel's Sketches of the Works for the Tunnel under the Thames from Rohterhithe to Wapping 1829.
The Tunnel began in 1825 and was completed in 1843 using Marc Isambard Brunels and Thomas Cochranes newly invented tunnelling shield technology by Brunel and his son Isambard
The tunnel was considered the Eigthth Wonder of the World and millions of visitors visited each year.
There are 10 vignettes/sketches of various points of development of the tunnel and 2 pull out drawings showing the tunnel being dug and then the completed tunnel. A pull out map of the Thames and a 2 page plan of the river and tunnel.
Printed lithographically by the Philanthropic Society, St. Georges Field, Published by Messrs Harvery and Darton of Gracechurch Street and C. Tilt, St. Brides Avenue, 86 Fleet Street. london. Due to personal reasons 'Wayside Mews and Collectables' will be unable to fulfil any orders for the immediate future, this will include the period up to St Valentines Day 2023.
