Here we are able to offer this beautiful example of true craftsmanship.
This 3 train Grande sonnerie (blind mans clock) by Resch company is a truly fantastic untouched example. The burr elm which would of been hand picked by the cabinet maker is in my opinion magnificent.
The case is in great condition showing very little signs of damage, this said there is a little piece of carving missing from the return of the carved horn on the top of the clock. The case which has not been refinish has only been sympathetically cleaned to a high standard to maintain the originality and then given a gentle coat of high quality wax to maintain that fresh crisp look for years to come.
The 8 day 3 weight driven movement is in full working order having been serviced and cleaned by Westmorland Glass-Steam Mill Clocks. The clock strikes beautifully each 1/4 of a hour highlighting the quarter of the hour and then the hour hence the name blind mans clock also befitting from a pull repeat cord to re-strike the previous chime. as you can see from the photographs the movement pendulum and seating plate all have matching serial numbers.
The dial is signed by what would of been the original retailer at the time of manufacture. It was originally retailed in Hungry.
I strongly advise any interested parties to view the clock in person as the color of the elm really isnt done justice by my photography skills and the proportions of the clock are smaller than you would expect.
If the asking price is paid in full then I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland,Wales and the Scottish lowlands.I will also provide a 12 months guarantee under these circumstances.This is the same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads
If a lesser offer is accepted then this will be sold as a trade sale with the clock as described and with shipping costs the responsibility of the buyer.
