Here we have the finest of Victorian Yew and Elm broad arm Windsor chairs c1870. As you can see the chair has stunning colour and patina. This is the best of high back Windsors being made from solid Yew with an Elm seat and almost certainly from the Nottinghamshire region. There is a lovely incised hoop back with Yew spindles and a beautiful shaped and pierced Yew splat. There is sublime carefully chosen Yew for the arms which have beautiful colour and patina. There are elaborately turned Yew arm supports leading to a thick saddle shaped Elm seat again with super grain. The legs again are expertly turned from solid Yew and joined by a double H stretcher. A stunning chair not to be bettered in great retail condition ready for any collection or home. The dimensions are 45 inches high 25 wide and 20 deep.
