A fabulous unused mid-century Stratton enamel cigarette case. The case is in superb NOS (new old stock) condition. The lid is decorated with matt grey enamel and white floral motifs. The edges, interior and base are all gleaming lacquered brass. The whole item has been protected with a layer of lacquer at the point of manufacture and so it will never tarnish nor need cleaning. There isn't any enamel loss. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. It is so typical of Stratton to feature a clever design. The cigarette clip can be moved to accommodate different lengths of cigarettes available. This means that this case can accommodate modern cigarettes too as well as bank notes, business and credit / debit cards. The cigarette clip is signed " Stratton REG....PAT NO 851743." The inner case is gilt and base are gleaming and clean and decorated with the all over star design. The photos do not do this case justice at all, it is very beautiful. The vintage cigarette case measures 9.5 cm X 8.5 cm & weighs 90.2 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
