An extremely rare ' Lion Tamer' 10 inch Circus plate designed by Laura Knight for the 1934 Harrods and 1935 Art in Industry exhibitions. The design was also issued on 9 inch plates, but the larger 10 inch version is harder to find. The plate is also a 'First Edition'.
A truly stunning and rare plate from 1934 and displays beautifully. Immaculate condition with no chips,cracks, crazing hairlines, scratches or restoration guaranteed. 25cm dia
Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Graham Sutherland, Barbara Hepworth and Paul Nash designs were also commissioned for the exhibitions to showcase modern art for the table.
