This has to be one of the finest but simplest lap boxes I have seen. It is veneered all around (even the base!) with Coromandel, brass quandrant moulding to the edges. Inside is a deep blue Moroccan hide interior. It has one ink pot and a Coromandel lid. The Bramah lock is stamped JT Needs (1874-1901, Company owned by J.T. Needs & Co. and held Royal Warrants from Queen Victoria and King Edward VII. The locks marked J.T. Needs & Co. 100 New Bond Street (Late J. Bramah 124 Piccadilly)
