A Royal Mint 2012 Countdown to London Olympics Silver Proof Piedfort Coin Set.
In 2012, to celebrate the Countdown to the 2012 London Olympic Games, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Olympic Games Countdown Piedfort £5 Five Pound Silver Proof Coin Set struck in solid Sterling Silver. The set consists of a series of four £5 coins from 2009 to 2012.
The set complete with a Certificate of Authenticity COA for each coin, confirming the specification and detailing to design.
This set is the rarer Piedfort Coin, more sought after by collectors, the coins are double the thickness of the standard issue and released in more limited numbers by the Royal Mint.
