Davenport Porcelain Dish View Of Ross-On-Wye
A pretty dessert dish by the Davenport manufactory with a shaped rim and twin acanthus moulded handles with pierced detailing. A vivid cranberry ground frames a large central reserve hand painted with a named view of Ross showing the church spire and elegant buildings on the river over looking small sailing boats, swans and a fisherman. Marked with underglaze blue mark, c.1840 and further marked with a retailer stamp for J. Cotton, China Rooms Ross.
It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4") by just over 14cm (5") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high. Condition is good with no damage or restoration.
