Derby Porcelain Fluted Tea Bowl & Saucer
Pretty Derby tea bowl and saucer with 24 vertical flutes and shaped rims. Decorated with gilding only, a twisting vine snaking along a straight gilded band sits below a a band of bull's eyes sandwiched between 2 further straight bands and with a dentil border at the rim. The tea bowl has a further gilded band running inside of dots sitting under a scalloped line and both bowl and saucer have a floral spray in the centre. Puce marks to both with pattern number 55, c.1790
The saucer measures 13.2cm (5 1/4") wide and 3cm (1 1/4") high. The bowl measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") and 5cm (2") high. Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration and minimal surface wear. The bottom of the foot rims are mainly unglazed and the unglazed porcelain has yellowed in these places. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
