This is a stunning early 19th century Dutch marquetry single bedstead in nice original condition dating from around 1820. The arched headboard and foot boards showcase fabulous marquetry inlaid panels of the highest quality featuring classical figures as well as angels and putti floating on clouds, with a beautiful sleeping Angel child central to the arch of the head and base boards. The frame and side rails are equally beautifully inlaid throughout with scrolling acanthus and trailing floral designs. The bed has a wonderful warm colour to the walnut and and satinwood inlay and a good antique patina throughout. This is complete with a good, later timber latt base so simply requires a standard single mattress (90 by 190) widely available.

The bed measures 196 cms long by 98 cms wide overall when assembled with the headboard being 172 cms high and the base 110 cms in height.
