Early 20th C Silver Plated Gravy Boat, Fenton Bros
This is a good quality early 20th century Silver Plated Gravy Boat of good size. It stands on three curled feet and has a scalloped top rim. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The gravy boat is made in Sheffield by Fenton Brothers Ltd and dates to the period c.1900-1930. Fenton Brothers were in business at the South Moor Works in Sheffield from the mid-1890s up until the mid-1930s, primarily making tableware in both Sterling Silver and Silver Plate.
Condition is very good with no dings or dents and just a small amount of plate loss on the body next to the bottom of the handle where it has been rubbed by many fingers over its years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The gravy boat is 20.2cm / 7.9ins long from lip to handle, 10cm / 3.9ins across and stands 12cm / 4.7ins high. It weighs 348g / 12.2oz.
The base of the gravy boat is marked F.BROS.Ld.S for Fenton Brothers Ltd of Sheffield and E.P.N.S for silver plate.
