Finely crafted Japanese bamboo page turner depicting a pair of peacocks on rocks beneath the branch of a pine tree and with clouds overhead.
The handle is shaped, pierced and carved with a geometric design.
As is typically the case, the reverse is much more simply carved.

The quality and complexity of the carving of this particular example makes it the best of a collection of seven page turners which we acquired at the same time.

Dimensions: 45 cm length x 5.7 cm width (17 3/4" x 2 1/4")

Condition: Excellent condition with a nice colour and patina. No splits.
