Georgian Derby Porcelain Imari Pattern Coffee Can
Pretty Derby coffee can with a looped handle with inner spur and thumb rest. Painted with large floral pattern in an imari palette of red and blue with gilded highlights. A smaller similar border runs around the inside of the rim and there are gilded acanthus leaves painted down the handle. Red large crown over letter D mark to the base, c.1820.
It measures 8.5cm (3 3/8") rim to handle, 6.5cm (2 5/8") rim to rim and 6cm (2 3/8") high. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is some rubbing to gilding mainly to the frieze on the inside of the rim and to the top of the rim itself. Outside there is very little surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
