Georgian Mahogany Sofa Table Table Sofa Georgian %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A superb late George III period sofa table, having an attractively grained mahogany top with drop flaps to the ends, rosewood cross band and reeded edge, veneered on to oak for extra structural integrity. Below this is an elegantly slim frieze with two dummy drawers and two oak lined drawers with particularly fine hand-cut dove tail joints and turned knob handles, raised on tapering end supports with reeded sabre legs and original brass shoe castors, united by a high shaped stretcher.

Width (closed) 36” (91cm) Width (open) 60” (152cm) Depth 29” (74cm) Height 28” (71cm)

Condition and Details of Restoration
This table is in original untouched structural condition and completely sound. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some extremely minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age. The two drop flaps are very slightly bowed, but barely noticeably.
