The perfect centerpieces for that beach house, a magnificent and unusual pair of figural statues of a "Sailor Prince".

It's quite miraculous that the top quality hand-cut crystal dishes have survived unscathed for around 130 years, the pair dating to around 1890. Each is marked for the silversmith, Thomas Wilkinson of Birmingham. Founded by Thomas Wilkinson in 1832 the firm was active at the Pelican Works using the trade mark 'Pelican Ware'. In 1840 the firm was active at High Street, Sheffield advertising as "By Special Appointment to Her Majesty" (Queen Victoria).

A truly impressive top notch showpiece in excellent condition. Each comport stands 14 1/2" high and each crystal dish having a diameter measuring 10" in diameter.
