Charming late 19th.c carved hardwood panel, probably Indian c.1890. Carved in high relief with a splendid elephant, dressed for a festival or similar, with two figures sat upon on its back. Presented in a foliate carved frame. Unfortunately the elephant is missing one ear and it looks as though the figure nearest the head may have once held a spear or similar, minor damage to the frame. Excellent colour and patina.
