A classic and very smart automated jam / preserve / honey jar dating to around 1910. The upright handle can be lowered t the side and the lid automatically opens, revealing the Patent number for this mechanism. The underside is where the English makers mark can be found for the top notch silversmith, Mappin and Webb.

The fittings are made from EPNS, Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

This example is lucky enough to have the stylish original serving spoon.

Excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" in diameter x 6" tall to the top of the handle.
