James Macintyre & Co Lidded Hot Milk Jug c1896 James Macintyre Tube lined Milk Jug %%alt5%%
We have for sale a very attractive late Victorian James Macintyre and Co hot milk jug complete with its pewter lid.

This lovely Macintyre hot milk jug is of a truncated conical form and is decorated with a Harry Barnard design consisting of green bands above and below a central panel containing tube lined flowers and scrolls in blue and white. The body of the jug is complimented by an angular cream and gilt handle and its original pewter lid. The base of the jug carries the printed James Macintyre & Co Gesso Faince mark c1895-97, along with the pattern number M1072 and the Registered Number 308931.

The jug is 6.75 inches (17cm) high, approximately 5 inches (12.5cm) wide from spout to handle and has a base diameter of 3.75 inches (9.5cm). The jug is in a very good to excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. However, there is a small loss of enamel to the left side of the spout. This loss of enamel can be seen in photographs 2 and 4.
