Large Victorian parian figure of 'Beatrice'

A very fine quality and large classical figure of 'Beatrice' in parian by Copeland after the marble sculpture by Edgar Papwort Jnr. The figure is standing at ease with a hand to her heart and is dressed in classical dress. The figure rather unusually and showing it's quality has been highlighted in colours and gilding just to the edge of the dress and to the star in her hair. The title 'Beatrice' is impressed to the front and is impressed to the reverse of the plint with: 'EDGAR PAPWORTH Sc.' and 'PUB. MARCH 1864' and 'COPYRIGHT RESERVED COPELAND M 75.' The figure is in perfect condition. C.1880.
