This is a fabulous Persian Ardebil hand-knotted woollen rug of predominantly geometric design in an unusual colourway, approximately 60 years old.

The colours are made from natural vegetable dyes and have a slightly faded appearance with pale yellows, blues and greens. Rather unusually the background of the main central panel is an amber colour. The tribal design with its strong shapes and lighter colours allows this rug to be equally at home in both modern and more traditional interiors.

Dimensions: 270 cm x 211 cm (8 ft 10 inch x 6 ft 11 inch)

Condition: The rug has been cleaned and is in good condition. However, it is a vintage rug so some wear should be expected.
