Letter from The Duke of Norfolk -1896 Duke of Norfolk  Correspondence Postal Franking
Letter from the Duke of Norfolk to Mr Milthorp. Mr Milthorp was a J.P. The letter is sent from 31 Norfolk House, St. James's Square, London on the 14th March 1896, accepting an invitation from Mrs Armitage. Mrs Armitage was the wife of Robert Armitage (M.P.) for Leeds.
The letter has a Watermark 'A Webster & Co., Charter Perfecta'
Envelope has a Victoria One Penny Purple Postage Stamp with nice franking 'Ascot May 14 96'. On reserve of envelope Postal Franking 'Reading 4.45 P.M. 14 May 96' The letter and envelope has the black border of mourning.
