Superb French Louis XV style writing desk or bureau plat c.1930. Original tan leather work surface with a gilt tooled edge, plus matching leather top slides at both ends. Within a deep brass edge moulding with applied mounts at the corners. Over three drawers with shaped kingwood parquetry drawer fronts with brass mounts and decorative handles, all repeated as dummy drawers on the rear of the desk. Additional parquetry panels at the sides. Raised on shaped cabriole legs with large pierced brass mounts running all the way down to the feet at the outer edges. Mahogany frame and oak drawer sides. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
