Meiji Period Magnificent Satsuma Vase Meiji Period Magnificent %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Meiji Period Magnificent Satsuma Vase, painted with lilac flowers hanging from around the rim and drooping down the body. The rim is gilded. There's high points of gilding to identify each leaf of tree mountains in the background the roof of the Minka (Japanese house) all set around the lake with two small boats with people in the middle of water. It's a beautifully hand-painted vase. with earthenware satsuma there's a folklore or an urban legend that the Japanese artists who executed these vases would go blind due to the detail and intricate work, signed to the base Yabu Meizan.
