Mid Century Vintage Teak Gordon Russell Desk
Handsome teak Gordon Russell twin pedestal desk presented in a wonderful condition. This one is a super piece of Mid Century antique furniture in well-toned teak and it goes without saying, fab build and design quality.
Gordon Russell was one of Britain’s great furniture designers and the Gordon Russell Design Museum is worthy of a lengthy visit if you wish to know more about the company and how it shaped furniture post war in Great Britain.
Back to the desk... It’s a weighty piece with a run of 3 drawers to the right and a useful single shelved cupboard to the left which is removable if you desire. The top of solid teak is nicely planed to the edges giving it some real mid-century style, as do those angled legs. As you would expect the desk looks good from all angles so could be placed in a room not just against a wall.
Workshop report – The desk survives in great vintage order with sensible day to day wear – the drawers are running as they should and the original period brass handles are all in situ. It sits firm with no wobbles, sways or repairs and the Gordon Russell label is attached to the underside of the top. The teak frame is good in colour with a pleasing grain, the odd mark or two. The top is lightly aged marked and has one faded ink mark to the top left hand corner but nothing new or nasty. Overall a well-cared for desk.

If you are not happy with an item you have 14 days to return it. This is providing that the item is returned, in the condition it left us, within 14 days. Please note that items must be wrapped and insured, with the return cost being covered by you. Once the item is back with us, having had a once over in the workshop, your refund will be issued.
