Musical Chionoiserie Musical Bracket Clock
This is a very fine and most rare musical chinoiserie bracket antique clock dating from the last quarter of the 18th Century by John Walters , London.
The unusual fully restored rear wind double fusee movement with verge escapement and a beautifully engraved back plate has a passing strike every hour on a single bell and every three hours it plays one of three selectable tunes every three hours on a next of six graduated bells.
The inverted bell top case has glazed sides and rear door which allow the movement to be clearly seen . It is decorated with typical oriental figures and scenes throughout , a nice touch being that the making behind the door is similarly decorated.
The 8 inch arched silvered brass dial is finely engraved and the hands original . The silvering is aged and some people may prefer it to be re silvered and lacquered which can be completed free of charge at the buyers request.
As can be seen from the images this clock is in excellent condition throughout and is ready to be displayed in the home.
This is an impressive clock being is 20 inches tall (handle down). The width is 12 inches and the depth 7.
This is a genuine and original clock and I offer a full money back guarantee to this end.
Any potential clients are very welcome to view the clock prior to purchase (or pay on delivery)to ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase.
This clock is much nicer in the flesh and looks superb .
If the asking price is paid in full then I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland,Wales and the Scottish lowlands.I will also provide a 24 months guarantee under these circumstances. This is the same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads
