Nineteenth Century carved oak Irish corner chair
This is a good quality arm chair. It is made in solid oak with parcel gilt detailing. The chair is nineteenth century and probably Irish. Irish carvers liked the intertwined dolphin imagery and hairy paws.
This is a corner armchair. It is very opulent with inset scaled panels and turned supports with acanthus leaf carving.
It will look good in a turn of the stairs or in the corner of a well furnished principal room.
The chair is in good condition. The oak is well polished and the gilding has that understated glint that gives it prescence.
The chair is in good antique condition. No sign of worm. joints solid.
The armchair seat is 18 inches high and the back is 30 inches high and it is 28 inches from outside arm to outside arm.
