This is an attractive pair of Chinese watercolours on silk dating from the early 20th Century, around 1920. The watercolours are well painted in strong gouache colours on to a pale ivory silk backing. Each painting depicts cherry blossoms and chrysanthemum flowers in beautiful cloisonne vases and jardinieres on stands. The vases and jardinieres are in a deep cobalt blue, a lighter blue and white. The blossoms are mainly white and coral pink and are set of beautifully against the background. These are in excellent condition throughout and are presented in very smart gilt frames which suit them well. They are a good size measuring 65 cms by 43 cms including the frames.
