A good 19th Century pietra dura specimen marble topped occasional table. The top inset into a rosewood and simulated rosewood base which has a cross banded top and frieze. The turned and carved centre column joined with 4 outswept supports and the whole stands on 4 short carved legs. These pietra dura marble tops were often purchased as a souvenir in Italy during the Grand Tour and sent back to England where bases were made to promote the specimen marbles. Excellent condition with no damage. Size :- Height...27.75''/ 70.5cm. Diameter...23''/ 58.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £55.
