The Northern Banking Corporation Promissory Note dated June 13th 1830.
In 1830 the Irish Banks had to start paying tax duty on Promissory Notes from 1 shilling 3 pence to 3 shillings & 6 pence.
The Northern Banking Corporation was established in Dublin in 1824. This note is to The Royal Bank of Scotland, and has an embossed duty stamp of 3 shillings. Also a nice Northern Banking Company franking. The Promissory Note.'s value is £62.00 payable to Mr Campbell,a Merchant from Glasgow.
