A rare mid 18th century Swedish Vernis Martin bracket antique clock by Claes Berg, Stockholm c1750. Signed P.G Bolinder, The waisted case of scrolling Rococo form surmounted by a pediment with an asymmetrical finial of flowers and rocaille scrollwork in carved wood, over a yellow ground decorated with gold flowers with serpentine side panels on raised cabriole feet. This clock is simply stunning in its elegance and looks splendid with its untouched original painted finish.
The signed 10.5 inch painted Roman and Arabic dial with gilt rocaille style hands is secured to the case via a pair of latches and has the crazed finish that is only achieved after 250 years of life..
The twin barrel movement united by five baluster pillars with anchor escapement and silk suspension striking the hours on a bell. (The bell stamped with a crown within a circular disc) has been fully overhauled by me personally and comes with a full three year guarantee for your piece of mind
